In this week’s blog, we're taking you through Momma Jean’s iconic Granola Pie Recipe! This one is a recipe that tons of you have been asking for, and I don't blame you! It's been my favorite dessert growing up and it truly never gets old! If you've been looking for the perfect Thanksgiving Dessert, we got you covered.
The Recipe
Step 1: Prepare Crust
Feel free to use frozen or homemade crust based on your preference. Momma Jean uses a homemade crust this time, as she didn’t have one of her usual frozen crusts on hand!
Step 2: Transfer Crust to Pie Tin
Step 3: Fold Pie Crust to Fit in Tin
Fold and pinch the crust to make sure it fits snugly inside your tin, giving you shape and base you want!
Step 4: Pinch Crust
Pinch the edges of your crust to give it the texture and shape you desire! Momma Jean’s preferred texture for the top of the crust comes as a result of using her thumb to make an indention, and giving the dough a small twist repeatedly around the tin.
Step 5: Make the Filling
Pro tip: spray your measuring cup with cooking spray before using so all the measured ingredients slide right out!
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla (Momma Jean always uses a little extra)
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 4 crushed up Nature Valley Oats ‘N Honey Granola Bars
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Step 6: Pour the Filling into Crust
Step 7: Bake at 350 Degrees for 45-55 Minutes
Aubrie and Momma Jean like to bake it in the morning and eat it in the afternoon with dinner!
Step 8: ENJOY!!
The finished product should be crunchy on the top, and gooey on the inside when you go to cut it later on. Momma Jean’s Granola Pie goes GREAT with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream!
